Top 1 Parliament Hill

必去1 渥太華的地標 Parliament Hill

It is the most famous place in Ottawa, in other words, it is the landmark of Ottawa. As a foreign exchange student, you shouldn’t miss it.

The parliament can be divided into several parts, and there are free tours for the east and the center block. The tickets for entering are free. If you are interested in visiting the east and the center block, don’t forget to wait in line earlier than 9 in the morning. The tickets for every single day start to be handed out at 9.

The tickets are not available for the whole year, so make sure to double check it on the website before going.

這可以說是渥太華最熱門的景點，也是渥太華的地標，身為一個交換生，你絕對不能錯過。

國會大廈分為很多區塊，其中Center Block以及East Block有免費的導覽，如果你對導覽有興趣的話，別忘了早上九點前就要去排隊囉，每日的導覽票券會在九點開始發放。

但注意！不一定一整年都有免費的票券哦，所以要去之前別忘了上網確認一下。

It is not only popular for the big spider in front of the museum, but also the beautiful architecture design of the museum. The idea of the glass shape at the top of the building is referenced by the shape of the Parliament!

There are several areas in the museum. But each of them is really HUGE. It is even hard to see all the areas in one day, so I will highly recommend to visit it several times or only choose the part you are most interested in.

美術館不僅僅有吸睛的大蜘蛛，建築物的美也是另一個焦點。建築物頂部的玻璃形狀是參考國會大廈設計而成的哦！

園區分為很多部分，每個區域都非常大，其實很難在一天裡面把全區逛完，因此建議可以分很多次去或是挑你最有興趣的先去。

There are A LOT OF delicious restaurants worth trying there!

Beavertail is the most popular dessert in Byward Market. Go for a walk to the Byward market in a leisure afternoon and grab a piece of Beavertail as your dessert. If you are the big fan of sweetness, I am sure you will love it!

這裡有許多值得一試的餐廳！

Beavertail是在此處最為代表性的甜點，空閒的午後一邊散步一邊吃著甜點真的是一大享受。如果你是甜點愛好者我敢保證你絕對會愛上這個地方。

I have also tried the Chinese noodle soup restaurant called Le Mien Craft Noodle. The waitress there can speak Chinese as well. The meals there aren’t too expensive, the prices are aroud CAD15.

我也試過一間中式餐廳 Le Mien Craft Noodle，這裡的服務生會說中文，餐點價錢也不貴，一份餐點平均消費約為15加幣。

I will recommend a way to lower the daily cost and also save the food XD. Because I am not a girl which eats a lot, my friend and I ordered a large bowl and we pay less but still feel full.

我會推薦一個經濟實惠的方式，不但可以省下日常開銷也能減少浪費食物。

因為我是個吃不多的人，我和朋友共享一碗大的，份量很足夠，我們都吃得很飽並且費用較低。

Blue Cactus is also a high-recommended restaurant, serving various delicious Mexican food. If you want to save the budget as well. I will recommend to go there

On Sundays. There are some special discounts for specific meals on that day. Enjoy your meal!

If you don’t want to spend too much on eating, Warehouse is your best choice. They offer the meals which are all cost CAD5.99 (before tax). The atmosphere inside is relaxing. It is a good place to spend your time with friends for an affordable meal and drink on weekends.

Another suggestion is that during dinner time, there is always a long line waiting outside, in that case, go for an early dinner around 5 PM might be a wiser decision.

如果飲食預算有限，Warehouse是你最好的選擇，所有的餐點未含稅都是5.99加幣，餐廳的氣氛很讓人放鬆，可以和朋友在週末一起享用一頓悠閒的午餐或是一起喝杯飲料聊聊天！

另一個建議是，每當到了晚餐時間，外面總會排著長長的隊伍，因此，早一點吃晚餐會是較聰明的選擇。

The sunset here is always amazing. Why not spending an hour here, sitting on the bench and enjoying the sunset after a busy working day?

Don’t forget to bring a jacket with you since it will be super windy and freezing in the evening.

If the sky is clear, you can even see pink clouds before sunset!

It is the oldest canal which is still being used in North America. During winter, people can ski on it when the canal is covered by the ice!!

There is a free tour guide, but make sure to reserve it beforehand!

The tour guide will tell more about the history of Canada, and introduces every rooms in Rideau Hall. If you want to have deeper sides of Rideau Hall, joining the tour is your best choice.
